Privacy Policy¶
This policy describes what data the site belarus-transparency.org collects during an ordinary visit. If you wish to pass material to us as a source, separate obligations apply, set out on the page Source protection.
What we collect¶
Ourselves, nothing. The site does not use web analytics systems (Google Analytics, Plausible and the like), does not set its own cookies, and has no user accounts or contact forms.
What third parties collect technically¶
GitHub Pages server logs. The site is hosted on GitHub infrastructure (the Microsoft company). When any page is requested, GitHub automatically records the IP address, User-Agent (browser and OS type), time of request and URL of the requested page in its logs. These logs are retained by GitHub for up to 30 days. The project does not have access to them. For details — GitHub Privacy Statement.
Google Fonts. The site uses the Roboto font family, loaded from Google infrastructure (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com). When fonts are loaded, your IP address becomes available to Google. For details — Google Privacy Policy.
If you wish to avoid the transmission of technical data to GitHub and Google, use the site through Tor Browser or a VPN.
Your rights under the GDPR¶
Under the European Union General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to request information about your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Since the project does not itself store your personal data, for matters relating to technical logs please contact directly: GitHub through its privacy contact form, Google through its policy enquiries page.
For any matters connected with the mention of you personally or your organization in the project’s publications, write to transparency.belarus@gmail.com. Journalistic and academic processing of personal data is governed by Article 85 GDPR and national press-freedom laws. If a publication contains a factual inaccuracy, send a substantiated objection; we will consider it within a reasonable period and, upon confirmation, make the correction.
Changes¶
This policy may be updated. The date of the current version is in the document header. Significant changes are noted in the project news.
